Window Size:
In order to determine the approximate size of your window, you can do the following: 1) look for a label on your window (see Appendix A, Figure 3 to the Claim Form) containing a “Size” number (not every window will have a label); or 2) measure the “daylight opening” of one sash (the length and width of the glass in inches). These measurements can be used to translate into “call sizes” as indicated in the chart below
Call Height | Daylight Height, inches | | Call Width | Daylight Width, inches |
2/6 | 11.564 | | 1/8 | 15.564 |
2/10 | 13.564 | | 2/0 | 19.564 |
3/2 | 15.564 | | 2/4 | 23.564 |
3/6 | 17.564 | | 2/6 | 25.564 |
3/10 | 19.564 | | 2/8 | 27.564 |
4/2 | 21.564 | | 2/10 | 29.564 |
4/6 | 23.564 | | 3/0 | 31.564 |
4/10 | 25.564 | | 3/4 | 35.564 |
5/6 | 29.564 | |
5/10 | 31.564 | |
6/2 | 33.564 | |
The Window Size drop down box has these call sizes (for example if you measure the daylight opening width for one sash at 27.564 inches and the daylight height at 28.564 inches, you have a 2’-8” x 5’2” call size window). For purposes of approximating the recovery, if your measurement is in between sizes, go to the next largest size.
Date Window Manufactured/Year House Built:
There are a number of ways that you can determine the Date of Manufacture under the Settlement Agreement, including: 1) the label on the window (see Appendix A, Figure 3 to the Claim Form) containing a “Ship Date”; 2) the rim spacer (see Appendix A, Figures 5 to the Claim Form) indicating the manufacturing date; 3) an invoice and evidence of payment for the MW vinyl-clad, wood-framed window(s); 4) a certificate of occupancy for the Structure or other building inspection document indicating the completion date; or 5) any other contemporaneous documentary proof of the purchase and installation for each of the MW vinyl-clad, wood-framed window(s) that are the subject of your claim. Note: not every window will have a label or a rim spacer. For the purposes of approximating your recovery, you can approximate the Date of Manufacture by using the date the Structure was built. See the Settlement Agreement for complete information regarding the Date of Manufacture.
